Upcoming Trip: South Africa
The Curriculum:
As you know, I serve as the Director of Bible and Ministry Training (BMT) for Bible Centered Ministries International. In January, our department received a grant to develop a Ministry Leadership Training Program, and since then, we have been hard at work thinking through the most important information and skills that ministry leaders need to know.

Our goal for this year has been to develop the first six sessions, which provide the foundation for the whole curriculum. Praise God that we officially have drafts for all six of the foundational sessions, and we are ready to begin some initial testing!
South Africa Trip (October 24th-November 3rd):
At the end of October, I will be traveling to Cape Town, South Africa to test the first six sessions of our Ministry Leadership Training Curriculum.
Since we are writing this training program so that it can be used around the world, we want to make sure that we test it out in a non-Western context. This way we can make sure that the wording that we are using, the activities we are facilitating, and the flow of the ideas work in the way that we hope that they will.

Ingrid, BCM's National Director for South Africa, has been working with the BMT department to develop this curriculum over the past six months. She is setting up two test-trainings in Cape Town where we can try out the sessions that we have designed so far. While we have been collaborating for months, this will be my first time meeting Ingrid in-person, and I am so looking forward to connecting with her live and in-the-flesh!
There are lots of details to finalize before the trip, but we are so excited by all that God has been doing so far!
US-Based Test Training:
I am also working on putting together a test-training in the US. I am looking to work with one or two of my supporting churches to host the test training in the north-east of the US.
This will give us two different cultural settings worth of feedback as we are revising what is and is-not working. In some lessons, we offer alternative activities that may favor a Western or majority world setting. The hope is that we can test different versions of the training in these different settings as well.

I am still coordinating with a few churches to see where and when may work well to host the curriculum.
I will also need participants who would be willing to provide detailed feedback at the end of the training. If you are interested in helping, please let me know! I can reach out to you with more details as I clarify them.
Prayer and Praises:
South Africa Trip (October 24th-November 3rd)
Pray for safe travels as I it will take 20+ hours to get to Cape Town.
Pray that God will use the training to transform hearts, even though it is being used as a test for us.
Pray that God will bring the right participants who can provide insightful feedback.
Pray that God will give us wisdom as we revise what we have created as a result of the test-trainings.
Additional Test-Trainings
Pray that God will provide clear opportunities and insightful participants for the US-based test training.
Pray that God will open doors for additional opportunities in the future as we make progress in the curriculum.
