Exceedingly and Abundantly Answered!

"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)

I sit here at my desk somewhere between stunned, humbled, ecstatic, overwhelmed, and positively terrified.

There are times in life when you pray and ask God for something, and when He answers it, He does it in a big way. This week, He did just that.

Over the fall, I asked for prayer because we had applied for a grant. We submitted it in October, but have been waiting for an answer since then.

On Friday, the trust got back to us, congratulating us on the $150,000 grant we have received.

The Project:

We applied for this grant to aid in the development of a Ministry Leadership Training Curriculum. Praise God, the $150,000 that the trust has granted us will cover the cost of developing the material, publishing the material, and translating it into a few strategic languages!

The Purpose:

This curriculum is designed so that it can be helpful for ministry leaders all over the world.
This curriculum is designed so that it can be helpful for ministry leaders all over the world.

This Ministry Leadership Training Curriculum has enormous potential for kingdom impact! It will focus on training leaders who have minimal background or training in the Bible, Theology, Ministry Skills, Spiritual Formation, etc. but still have found themselves leading a ministry.

The curriculum itself will be structured in such a way that it does not depend on Westerners to fund, lead, or teach it. It is also designed in such a way that the trainers who teach it can be easily multiplied and that the content is helpful to those who are in the more rural and difficult areas where the church is present.

What's Next?

One of the biggest prayers in this season is for the right global teammates to work on this project.
One of the biggest prayers in this season is for the right global teammates to work on this project.

First, we will be working through the agreements with the trust to understand what kinds of records and reports we need to provide along the way.

Second, I'll need to assemble a curriculum development team to work on the project. This team will include BCM teammates from around the globe so that we can make sure that the content will be helpful and work well in all areas of the globe. Once the team is assembled, we will begin meeting over the coming months to talk through what kinds of things people need to know, and how we need to communicate it.

There has been a whirlwind of emotions associated with this grant, both in the application for it, and in the receiving of it. However, more than anything, I'm humbled. I'm humbled that God would see fit to use me, my team, and BCM in this project and to accomplish His purposes in this way. This is the beginning of a long road, and I don't know all of what it will entail, but I'm grateful to be apart of it, and I'm humbled to be leading it.

Prayers and Praises:

Curriculum Development Grant:

  • Praise God for His provision through this grant.

  • Praise God for the privilege of working with Him on this curriculum project.

  • Pray that God will bring the right people to the curriculum development team.

  • Pray that God will go before us in this project and that we will be attentive to His leading in it.

Partnership Development (Support-Raising):

  • Praise God that I am up to 34% funding! God has been faithfully bringing partners to be who are committed to pray and provide as I'm on this journey

  • Pray that God will lead me to those He has planned for me to partner with.
